Well it’s taken me awhile to sort all these, but I think it was worth it! Welcome to my 2019 Mother’s Day family pix!
Okay, if ever there were a title more gag-inducing, at least for me, this would be it. I’ll tell you (mercifully briefly) why.
What’s a meal without dessert?
Schwartz’s, The Main, Smoke Meat Pete’s, Snowdon Deli, Lester’s, Dunn’s, Nickel’s, plus Ben’s, Dusty’s, Delly Boys and Caplan’s of bygone times… our Montreal Delis have always been unique and each has had its own legions of fans.
I speak to you today as a lover of plain food. Not for me the aforesaid carrot foam (orange goop!), braised deer slices (bye-bye Bambi! 😦 ) or pickled quail eggs. I am of the opinion that only pickles should be pickled. But that’s just me.
If your guest has only a few days to spend in our fair city, as mine recently did, might I suggest a foodie jaunt that won’t break your budget…well, not too badly, anyway!
