Before Our Eyes, part 2

Re the Orange Madman to the South:

“Mr. Trump on Monday sharply intensified a Republican campaign to frame the midterm elections as a battle over immigration and race, issuing a dark and factually baseless warning that “unknown Middle Easterners” were marching toward the American border with Mexico.” – The New York Times

Whaaat?! These are people fleeing death in their homelands!

And this evil, ignorant, lying creature is reportedly supported by 45% of Americans, as well as the majority of Congress which was designed to CHECK such garbage.

What the hell has happened to America? They used to be the land of rationality and hope. Now they’re the pit of insanity and despair.

What happened to Emma Lazarus’s words, once a shining beacon, on the base of the Statue of Liberty?

THE NEW COLOSSUS
– by Emma Lazarus
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

How bad does it have to get? How bad CAN it get? See: Germany, 1933-1945.

If the Democrats can’t muster up a wave of victories two weeks from now, if they can’t or won’t march in the streets by the tens of thousands – I’m afraid the leading democracy in the world will disappear from global relevance. We Canadians will then greet many caravans of refugees… from the U.S. You will be welcome here.

SMH. 😰😰😰
